George Martinez and some of the Aces :-)
George Martinez
George Martinez was a musician, writer, and Entertainment Attorney. He graduated from UCLA Law School, and was one of the first Hispanic Lawyers at the prestigious law firm of Mason and Sloan. He wrote all the songs on this album except Dream of You which was written by Ron Rios. The Martinez family has some very talented musicians including Al Martinez and Aaron Martinez who are the co founders of the Moonlight Cruisers and Moonlight Trio.
Jerry Tintor
Jerry Tintor has taught at all grades 1-12 throughout his 39 year career in Los Angeles Unified School District. In addition to teaching, he has served as a math/science/computer coordinator, resource specialist, music teacher, and mentor teacher. Jerry has taught in bilingual classrooms and has worked with children with mild to moderate learning disabilities and special needs.
Jerry has played percussion with Los Lobos (guest), numerous touring bands, and spends many weekends performing at Retirement and Assisted Living Facilities for the Residents.
Ron Rios
Ron Rios, a native of East Los Angeles, picked up guitar playing at about age 11, around the time when Dylan, the Byrds, and the British Invasion were in full force. He joined his first “garage band” at age 15 because it was cool; he then graduated from Garfield High in 1972. During that period, he was part of a religious singing group named Senovia that eventually recorded an album in 1974. Ron had several jobs before beginning his 40-year career with the County of Los Angeles in 1975.
His musical work with George Martinez and Jerry Tintor was a special experience as it was mostly about crafting songs. Over the years until the present he jammed with many musicians and was in several music groups including George and The Aces (AKA, The Menudo Band), The Jukebox Junkies, Dragonfly Johnny, and The St. Linus Young Adult Choir (with his wife Esther Rios).
Steve Ormond
Steve has been an elementary school teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 31 years, always teaching the primary grades. Music has always been an important part of his class as a method of teaching all subjects areas to his young students. A piano, accordion, guitar, ukulele, banjo, and plenty of rhythm instruments are always on hand.
For the last twenty years, he has played keyboard and accordion with a variety of bands in Ventura, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara County, including Dixieland, jazz, classic rock, Latin, folk and klezmer.
For several years now, Steve and Jerry Tintor have been musical partners, performing classic jazz and pop standards and bringing joy to the residents of several memory care, skilled nursing and senior communities throughout Los Angeles and Ventura Counties
